I wish that actually meant what you think it means. I didn't shoot a photo that ended up on the cover of GQ Magazine, that's not where my career is yet. However, I did shoot the physical magazine with my friend Gr1fn for GQ to run as an Instagram Ad. That's no small feat for a struggling 20-year-old photographer. I've now created a tangible business connection to GQ. Maybe someone from their marketing team is following my work now. Maybe this small thing a year from now will be what gets me the opportunity to shoot something bigger. Maybe in five or ten years I'll shoot what ends up on the cover. Maybe in fifteen years I'll even be on the cover. Y'know, even smaller than any of these, maybe next time I'll get paid. Shooting things for free rarely pays off but when it does, those are the real wins.
